Come in From the Cold Music Series: Katy & Sweet Lou and St. Rangers • Friday, February 6th at 7pm • $20 general / $15 student
Blending the heart of Americana and the soul of the blues, Katy Tessman and Sweet Lou are an authentic mom-and-son duo with a unique ability to inspire listeners through heartfelt songwriting that celebrates life’s stumbles and summits. With her albums Fly and Turnbuckles, Tessman has become a beloved voice in the local music scene. Based in Minneapolis, she is also an award-winning children’s book author and was recognized as a CHANGEMAKER by Minnesota Women’s Press.
St. Rangers is a Twin Cities folk band whose 2025 debut EP, Witness Marks, feels like a gathering of old friends around a campfire. Founded by songwriters Garret Nasset and Rachel Bearinger (a St. Louis Park resident), the group grew out of the vibrant Minneapolis–St. Paul songwriter scene. With harmonies threaded through guitar, viola, banjo, and upright bass, their music blends heartfelt storytelling with gently rollicking rhythms and warm, unhurried melodies. St. Rangers invites listeners into a world of lost eras, hometown fables, and the kind of nostalgia you can almost smell in the woodgrain.
Presented by Summit Presents, Come in From the Cold music series brings some of the Twin Cities’ most compelling songwriters to Maggie’s Farm Theater in the historic Lenox Building—a cozy listening room perfectly suited for intimate, soul-stirring performances.
